Management consultancies can make a substantial contribution to an organization – and the economy. Transparency and understanding between client and consultancy is key to the quality of their work. Enhancing client relations through improved processes and communication can contribute to more successful outcomes and a greater contribution to the economy.

In June 2017, the international standard ISO 20700:2017 “Guidelines for management consultancy services“ was published.

Based on good practice from the management consultancy industry, the standard includes recommendations for the consultancy process to improve the specification, execution, acceptance and closure of management consultancy services

Thus, the application of ISO 20700 will improve transparency and understanding between clients and management consultancy service providers – a challenge expressed often by both clients and industry representatives.
